From my personal experience of looking, buying, and selling- there are many ways to find houses for sale- In the direct past you could go to your local newspaper and find a for sale house section- open houses were often word of mouth , radio ads or a weekly newspaper flyer, and the local real estate agent with the local house list. My first house purchased on my own I found through an open house. Fast forward to 2022- we have facebook, instagram, google, linkedin, zillow, additional websites, email campaigns, texts, phone calls, and many more. One thing that hasn’t changed is a transfer of emotion and a drive for clear communication through finding this house for sale. I feel with all the added technology, finding what you are looking for can be as overwhelming as it has ever been. This all also pertains to putting your own house for sale. I recommend looking for an agent / agency that has knowledge of the market and who can be trusted to be working for and with you.
